Gordale Scar.

Sunday 5 July.

We left our B&B at about 10;00am on a bright and sunny morning. We walked across field paths to reach Gordale Beck and followed it up to Janet's Foss, a small waterfall. Being summer, and not having had lots of rain, it was not very impressive.

We then followed the path up to the road and the very large campsite at Gordale Scar. You have to walk up a path, between the tents, to reach Gordale Scar. It is a very impressive limestone feature.

There is a path up beside the waterfall, shown in the picture above this text, but one needs to be a bit of a rock climber to ascend it and get up to the path above. Shiel and I took the easier option and went up the road to get onto the moor. We crossed the moor to come out beside Malham Cove, having passed the site of a Roman Marching camp along the way. We arrived back at the B&B with plenty of time for Shiel to watch tennis on the television!
